My Favorite Tote Bag Crochet Pattern


My favorite tote bag is made with simple stitches, a granny square, and a simple repeat of the pattern with a lot of interest and texture.

Written instructions are in US terminology.
Intermediate model.

Yarn: Premier Everyday Soft Worsted
(2) Balls: Cream (240 yards)
(1) Ball: Quiet Blue (6 yards)
(1) Ball: Twilight Blue (12 yards)
(1) Ball: Soft Peach (24 yards)

The finished measurement (excluding handles) is 11 ½ inches high by 15 inches wide.

250 grams of Borgo de’Pazzi Rafia;
Crochet n. 8;
Leather for handles: 2 pieces of 40cm x 1.5cm and 4 pieces of 5 x 1.5cm. Use a strip of leather for this (or use a belt).

The Rafia skein is made up of loose fiber threads that should be attached one by one when crocheting.
Borgo de’Pazzi Rafia is a natural fiber and since no two strands of fiber are alike, you can work together 2 strands of fiber if they are very thin.

• The starting or starting points of channel 2 are not counted as a point
• You can add more rounds to round 27-41 if you want your baggage to be longer.
• You can also add more chains to your strap if you want it to be longer than mine. You can make it a shoulder bag if you want. I recommend this type of strap because it doesn’t stretch that much and can be really strong. So far out of all the straps I’ve made, this is the strongest and the one that doesn’t stretch very much.

LDS Scripture Totes Crochet Pattern


This template was created with my Latter-day Saint friends and family in mind. The model includes instructions for two sizes: regular quadruple combination and compact quadruple combination.

This pattern is worked with 2 strands of yarn at the same time, so you will need 2 skeins of yarn to make one of the two sizes. However, two skeins of 236-yard Super Saver Red Heart yarn in striped, multi, or ombre will be enough to make a tote of any size. (Normal size takes around 126-136 yards, while compact size takes around 90-100 yards).

The Jackfield Tile Tote Bag Crochet Pattern


This colorful bag is based on The Jackfield Tile Square (pattern available separately – free download here) but can of course be made with any suitable square. A simple cover is made up of three pieces, then permanently sewn to an inexpensive, ready-made canvas base – an easy way to add strength, stability, shape and handles all at once.

Instructions for DK or Aran / worsted yarn are provided using the appropriate hook. Best of all, the notes also allow for adjustment to fit any caliber and any size and depth of the inner bag, as long as the front panels are square.

The outline is 6 pages long, with many photos and helpful tips. Now available also translated into Spanish (7 pages) – my very grateful thanks to Julia Veloso for all her hard work!
