I used the full package of Caron X Pantone, the last bit of the 5th colour is my pom, which could have been more dense.

I have a smaller sized head so it’s a bit slouchy on me.

You can use the long tail cast on, I just prefer for double brims to use the provisional, it’s easier to attach it for me.

The texture & decreases are both charted, the rest of the pattern is written.

The Pineapple Crown Beanie Crochet Pattern


The hat is worked bottom up. The headband is crocheted in rows equal to the circumference of the hat and then sewn. The hat is then worked in the round.

The sizing of this model suits teens to small adults.

Finished measurements are as follows: hat body – 10 “tall x 9.5” wide, brim – 18 “in circumference.

I used Lion Brand Heartland. Be sure to check your indicator if you use any other type.

I use a smaller hook for the hat band to ensure a snug fit. If you want a looser fit, you can use US I / 9 5.50mm crochet hook for the entire project.
